Festivals, Concerts and Style Oh My!
Sonita Bell/Three Rivers Arts Festival 2018
Hi Jewels! Summer is finally here, and that means picnic, festivals and outdoor concerts! I know for me it was always a nightmare choosing an outfit for these occasions. I used to spend hours trying on different outfits, feeling helpless in the abyss of my summer wardrobe. After many tries and fails, I now feel I have mastered this! Today I am going to reveal some tricks I have learned to help you get ready for your next outdoor event.
This past weekend kicked off of the Three Rivers Arts Festival here in Pittsburgh. I decided to go on opening day this year, it was the best decision! I love being at an event on kick off day, you get to enjoy perks that are not offered during the week. The festival is from June 1st thru June 10th and one of the most popular events to attend during the summer in the Steel City. The Arts Festival is hosted by the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, sponsored by Dollar Bank and staffed with hundreds of volunteers. It draws over one million people during the 10 day long festival. The Arts Festival consist of Food, Art, Music but for me it consist of diversity and cultures, combined with many diffterent styles and fashionable looks. Check out my tips!
1. Research the Venue
It's extremely important to scope out the venue when choosing your outfit for an outdoor event. Check for seating and shaded areas including how far you will have to walk.
2. Choose a comfortable stylish shoe.
Espadrilles, Gladiator, Flat Platform are my go to.
3. Pick light and cool fabrics to wear.
Chambray material, linen, silk, light fabric sundresses or cargo shorts. I love cargos that have additional pockets (for travel size sunblock) you don't have to tote around a purse or bag all day.
4. Incorporate useful accessories.
Sunglasses and bookbags(fanny packs are back) are must haves. Fans are also a really great pratical item to bring.
